Web Designer UI/UX
Reports to: CTO
Purpose
The web designer at CFI designs the layout and functionality of the company’s websites including designing and updating all pages and collaborating with the Product team as necessary to execute initiatives.
The web designer understands user experience and is able to design websites that are easy to understand, navigate, and use, and adhere to design standards and specifications.
Key indicators of success in this role are measured by website conversion metrics on key pages (e.g. purchases, account generation, etc.) and user behavior (e.g. heatmaps and analytics).
Job description
- Concept and design engaging and responsive web experiences
- Work with CFI’s marketing team on data-driven design decisions, with the ultimate goal of improving website conversion rate with A/B testing tools and analytics
- Assist with usability and website conversion optimization testing, defer to that data, and add or edit existing pages based on results
- Identify opportunities for reducing friction, increasing site performance and improving the user experience
- Facilitate design-to-engineering handoff and communicate desired functionality to CFI’s engineering team
- Craft engaging landing pages in platforms like WordPress or Instapage to support campaign objectives
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and evolution of a Figma design system and component library
- Support other design initiatives ad-hoc design projects including presentations, graphics, ads, white papers, etc, as needed
- Serve as a design advocate for our team, keeping up to date on the latest UX research and design practices and bringing them to the team
- Collaborate with Product and Graphic Designers on cross-functional projects
Qualifications
- Two or more years of work experience in web design
- Mastery of web design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Proven history of working with a cross-functional team to ship high-quality products
- Deep understanding of responsive web design principles
- Familiarity with web design optimization for accessibility
- Awareness of SEO, page speed and web analytics impact of changes
- Experience with WordPress or similar content management systems
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS, preferred
