About the Position.
We are looking for an organized and professional WordPress Developer to be a key contributor to provide technical assistance to our staff, support the roll-out of new applications, assists in development and daily maintenance of websites and responsible for the continued development, maintenance and on-going updates of The Spanish Group websites and platform as well as other custom programming projects. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
This is an opportunity to work remotely between 8:30 to 9:30 hours per day (full-time). You must have a computer, high speed internet and an area to work free of background noise.

Responsibilities.
• Provide technical support and assistance to the IT and Web Development team.
• Assist in training end-users on hardware functionality and software programs.
• Resolve logged errors in a timely manner and monitor system performance metrics.
• Keep track of technological advancements and trends in IT support.
• Assist in the development of custom code and updates, as needed.
• Assist in the development of custom database-driven websites to meet special needs.
• Assist in the design and implementation of new features, enhancements, and content of existing WordPress websites.
• Create new pages and link them with the existing ones.
• Troubleshoot PHP, MySQL, and CSS issues related to websites.
• Integrate with third-party APIs.
• First contact resolution of desktop issues or follow proper escalation procedures.
• Write/read clean well-documented custom code and updates, as needed.
• Generate all necessary reports for decision making.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or similar and/or certification/coursework in Web Development.
• Demonstrate an outstanding level of fluency in English (written and spoken).
• 1+ years’ experience in website development and creating custom websites.
• Strong knowledge of current web development languages. WordPress and WooCommerce first and foremost.
• Strong knowledge of WordPress website development.
• Knowledge of existing native WordPress functions.
• Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform to WordPress standards.
• Strong understanding of GitHub, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, HTML and CSS.
• Experience integrating third party services (Mailgun, Postmark, WordPress, Bitrix24).
• Experience designing interfaces for Bitrix24 platforms.
• Creation of clean, logical, well-documented and reusable code.
• Theme/template integration.
• Familiarity with web standards and usability.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Must be skilled in writing clean, efficient code.
