Responsibilities

Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress.

Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components.
Update plugins.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
Build user interfaces from designer files that are responsive and user-friendly.
Integrate third-party services, APIs, and external data sources as required.
Develop and maintain APIs for internal and external use.
Build custom themes and plugins from scratch, as well as extend or improve existing themes and plugins as needed.

Optimize website performance and troubleshoot any front-end or back-end issues.

Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the application.
Optimize database queries and application code for speed and scalability.
Develop server-side logic and databases to ensure high performance and data integrity.
Implement security and data protection measures.
Implement responsive design principles and ensure cross-browser compatibility.

Work collaboratively with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality projects on time.

Conduct code reviews, promoting coding standards and best practices.

Debug and resolve software defects and issues.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including code documentation, API documentation, and system documentation.

Stay up-to-date on the latest WordPress trends, industry trends, security vulnerabilities, emerging technologies, and industry best practices. Share knowledge and expertise with the team.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development.
Strong expertise in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular (preferred).
Experience building and modifying custom WordPress themes and plugins.
Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, and filters.
Knowledge of REST APIs and integrating third-party services.
Extensive experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling is a plus.
Experience with Gutenberg editor, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), and other popular WordPress development tools.
Solid understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
Version control experience (Git preferred).
Experience with eCommerce platforms (WooCommerce, Shopify) is a plus.
Experience with other content management systems is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and work autonomously in a remote or hybrid setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
